01Choose the municipality, area and type of kindergarten.

What to do

Write down the municipality, child’s age, preferred area, start date and type of kindergarten: public, private or international.

Where to go

Selected kindergarten or residential municipality.

What to prepare

  • Child’s age, area, desired date and kindergarten type

First identify your route

  • Public kindergarten and eVrtić where available and accepting applications.
  • Private or international kindergarten.
  • Questions about the requirements for a foreign family.
02Check on eUprava or with the municipality whether eVrtić is available for the chosen area and whether applications are open.

What to do

Check on eUprava whether intake is open in your municipality and whether the kindergarten appears in eVrtić. Service availability does not mean intake is open now.

Where to go

eUprava/eVrtić and the municipality’s intake notice.

What to prepare

  • Municipality, institution and current intake notice
03If eVrtić is available, submit through the portal; otherwise ask the kindergarten or municipality how to apply.

What to do

Check the eGrađanin identification requirements and whether eVrtić supports your case. If online filing is unavailable, ask the kindergarten or municipality for another method.

Where to go

eGrađanin/eVrtić; kindergarten or municipality if unavailable.

What to prepare

  • Electronic identification access or confirmed alternative channel
04Ask the receiving kindergarten which details or records it needs for a foreign child and parent.

What to do

Ask the selected kindergarten what data it retrieves, what records it needs from a foreign family, and whether health or residence records are required.

Where to go

Selected kindergarten administration: foreign-family requirements.

What to prepare

  • Child/parent details and status/health evidence only as confirmed
05Track the application, answer follow-up requests and confirm next steps after acceptance.

What to do

Keep the application number and check status. If a place is offered, confirm the acceptance deadline, start date, check-up and contract documents.

Where to go

Filing service or kindergarten administration receiving the application.

What to prepare

  • Application reference; if offered a place: acceptance and contract documents
Translation and filing

Translation and certification

Before translating a foreign-issued record, ask the receiving institution whether it needs a Serbian translation by a court-certified translator (sudski tumač), whether an apostille/legalization is required, and in which order. Requirements differ by country and document. An ordinary or automatic translation is not a certified translation when certification is required.

What happens next

File only through the confirmed method. Keep a copy of the submission, case/application number and proof of receipt. Ask how to check status, when to expect a reply and what to do if more information is requested.

Message to the institution

Fill in your details and send this through an official channel shown above. This asks how to proceed; it is not a government form or a completed application. Do not attach originals or sensitive personal data to ordinary email until the institution confirms a safe way to send them.

Hello,

I would like to follow the “Enroll a child in kindergarten” procedure myself. My situation: [citizenship and current status in Serbia], [municipality], [brief circumstances and goal].

Could you please confirm:
1. Which department handles my case and where should I file?
2. Must I use an online service or prescribed form? If so, please send the current link and instructions.
3. Which documents apply to my case; are originals, copies or additional evidence needed?
4. For foreign-issued records, is apostille/legalization and a Serbian translation by a court-certified translator (sudski tumač) required? In which order?
5. How should I file, obtain proof of receipt and check status?

Thank you.
